The 2020 Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery In-service Training Examination (OMSITE) began March 16 and, extended due to COVID-19, had its last day of exam administration on July 31. It was administered to a total of 731 residents, either in-person or given remotely. In person at Prometric testing centers, it was administered to 521 residents, while 210 residents took the exam remotely.
For those that took the exam remotely, they were given three hours to take the exam on their own computers at home. To maintain the integrity of the exam, they were not given any breaks, and a virtual proctor was present throughout the duration of the exam using Prometric’s secure remote-assessment platform, ProProctor.
Results will be mailed in September to program directors.
ABOMS would like to thank the residents and program directors for their flexibility and patience throughout the process of completing the examination this year!
Applications for the 2021 OMSITE will open November 17, 2020.
